For agencies · white-label motion engineering
You direct. We make it move.
In film, the second unit shoots the hard footage while the director runs the set. That’s the arrangement: you send finished design files, we return pixel-loyal, motion-first builds — under NDA, with or without credit. Your client stays your client.
The work
The hard footage. Covered.
The parts of a build that make or break the brief — and that most teams don’t keep a specialist for.
From your finished designs
Pixel-loyal builds from your design files — the layout your client signed off, with motion designed into it, never bolted on after.
Scroll choreography
GSAP and Lenis: scroll-scrubbed heroes, pinned story rails and scenes that hand over to each other like cuts in a film.
Canvas and frame-scrubbed film
Image sequences and canvas work driven by the scroll — the visitor becomes the timeline.
Micro-interactions
Magnetic buttons, self-drawing lines, glass navigation — the detail people feel before they notice it.
Performance rescue
An existing build that stutters? We find what’s dragging and bring it back to fast loads and 60fps motion.
Light, clean code
GSAP, Lenis and vanilla JavaScript. No frameworks you’ll have to maintain, nothing your team didn’t ask for.
How it works
Figma in. Motion out.
Four steps from the brief to the handoff — and no surprises in between.
-
01
The brief
A 30-minute call: the project, the designs, the motion you have in mind and the deadline. You leave with an honest read on what’s feasible.
-
02
A fixed fee
Scope, price and timeline in writing — per project or weekly. Your NDA signed first, if you need one.
-
03
Build on staging
The work happens on a private staging URL you can open any day, review and share with your team.
-
04
Handoff
Code and files delivered to you, ready for launch. Credit only if you want it — the launch is yours.
The arrangement
Clear terms. Quiet credit.
Scoped per engagement at a fixed fee — per project or weekly — and agreed in writing before the first line of code.
- NDA-friendly — send yours with the brief, before a single file changes hands
- Credit optional — your name on the work; ours only if you want it there
- Your client stays your client — the relationship is entirely yours
- A fixed fee — per project or weekly, never an hourly meter
- A direct line — you talk to the person who builds, not an account manager

The craft
We can’t show agency work. That’s the point.
Second Unit work ships under other studios’ names. So here’s the same craft in our direct projects — open them and scroll.

Scroll film · construction
Valerie Comfort Group
A scroll film assembled from real photos of a renovation — the visitor scrolls from bare walls to the finished room, without reading a word.

Our own product
TITAN
An AI fitness coach in 7 languages — product, design and motion built from zero.

Dark luxury · real estate
AVA PRIME & PARTNERS
Serif typography, a cathedral at dusk and a 16-page site with property search behind it.

Warm craft · atelier
Tapicera
A crafted site for an upholstery workshop with 41 years behind it — before-and-after gallery and a fabric catalog.

Cinematic scroll · restaurants
Beshamel
A trilingual site with a cinematic scroll opening — and Beshamel’s own online ordering system running behind it.
Every project above was designed and built end to end by the same person who would build yours.

Something else? Write to hello@silkern.com or call +359 886 754 314.
What do you need from us?
Finished design files — Figma is ideal — plus whatever you have on motion: references, a prototype, a few lines on how it should feel. And one person on your side who can make decisions.
Do you design as well?
Second Unit starts where your design ends: we build from finished files and bring the motion. Where a scene needs choreography the files don’t show, we propose it — within the design you’ve signed off.
How is it priced?
Scoped per engagement at a fixed fee — per project or weekly. You get the number in writing before work starts; there’s no hourly meter.
Can you rescue an existing build?
Yes — performance rescue on existing builds is part of Second Unit. We find what stutters and bring it back to fast loads and smooth, 60fps motion.
What do you build with?
GSAP and Lenis for scroll choreography, canvas for frame-scrubbed film, vanilla JavaScript throughout — no frameworks you’ll have to maintain.
Will our client know about you?
Only if you want them to. Credit is optional and decided per project — and your client stays your client.
How available are you?
One Second Unit engagement runs alongside one direct project — never more. That keeps the quality where it should be, and it’s why it pays to call early.
Who actually does the work?
The founder — directly, with eleven years of professional code across Python, PHP/Laravel, JavaScript and C#. No juniors behind a senior pitch, no handoffs.
